Cell phone sales enormous

Reports are that cell phones are at an all time high. In 2005, over 800 million units of cell phones will ship worldwide.

Average selling prices per phone have fallen 11 percent to $146 in the third quarter compared with the year-ago period, due to the emphasis on cheaper models and competition. The cell phone market is on track for $120 billion in total annual wholesale revenues this year, Strategy Analytics said. reuters

That’s right, over $10 billion worth of cell phones are sold each month, making them one of the most important consumer markets going today.
