Nokia sued by Qualcomm over building blocks of GSM

Nokia, which is the world’s largest handset maker, has recently been sued by Qualcomm over GSM Technology.
GSM, which is the prevailing format for cell phones, has sold over 1.8 billion units since inception. The lawsuit also mentions data formats EDGE and GPSR. All told, 11 patents are challenged by Qualcomm, who claims they tried to settle the dispute amicably:
This suit was filed in response to an earlier lawsuit by Nokia against Qualcomm for patent infringement.
