Or maybe they’re even the present. But if you think about it, Smartphones make a ton of sense and are very likely to be adopted by the masses. The fact is, everyone carries their phone already, so adding features to a ubiquitous product makes even more people want it. Let’s look at some trends concerning Smartphones:

Smartphones are selling like crazy

Palm’s profits are up big, based on their sales of their popular Smartphone, the Treo. Treos and Blackberry’s from RIM are moving at an impressive clip this year, with no real sign of a slow-down. In fact, cell phone manufactures are predicted to sell over 123 millions Smartphones this year alone! Any company in this space which is ignoring this explosive growth will be dead in no time.

With this many Smartphones being sold, more features are being introduced constantly

Smartphones can do an enormous amount of things already, and the feature sets promise to get even better as universal acceptance of the devices is ensured. Many third party makers are already cashing in on the explosion in sales, and more and more content and software is being developed every day. Smartphones are here to stay, and the future is now!
