Cell Phone with GPS capabilities

Here is an example of two technologies coming together to make cellular services assist consumers in another unique way.

This is being done by integrating Global Positioning Services on a Cell Phone. This is already being used in Japan and South Korea and has been embraced by the consumers there.

Many cell phones in America are already equipped with GPS technology. This was ordered by the Federal Government to locate the exact origin of emergency calls.

GPS Cell phones are currently being marketed  by a number of companies, mainly Sprint, Motorola, and Verizon. These phones give driving directions in any town, and assist travelers in finding their way strange towns with just one device.

There are a few ways to access this service. For people that do a lot of traveling, a subscription option is available. For a cost of around 10.00 monthly your phone can be the ”North Star” of this century. People that just need assistance from time to time might opt for the one day access charge. For under $5.00, your phone will give clear, spoken directions to get you to your destination. A map will even be available on the LED screen of the phone to help clarify your spot on earth.

This does represent a cost savings, as a GPS system runs anywhere from 600.00-900.00. A cell phone is even more portable, and a pretty smart idea in my humble opinion.

    2. Who would supposed a few years ago, that some day people will carry such small cellular phones in their pockets? And they will have GPS functions and CPU units ten times faster than a regular personal computer had five years ago…
I can only imagine what the future after another 5 years will be. I can’t wait to see it!
