Upgrading my Cell Phone

I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now.

I originally signed up for a service plan and a phone with AT&T. Nothing fancy, just a plain old Motorola cell phone with no bells or whistles.. just a basic “utility” phone to take care of business when needed.

AT&T got purchased by Cingular in February of 2004, so I’ve been a customer of theirs for a while. When they took over the account, nothing much changed. I got to keep my phone number and even my monthly rate stayed the same.

Now that its 2006, I’d seriously like to upgrade my phone to a Smartphone that has internet access. Maybe the Palm Treo? It would be nice to connect without a T-Mobile Wireless Card or a free hotspot. Since the internet is a big part of our daily lives, it would make life easier on the go.

I’m going to do some research and see what Cingular has to offer. Since I’m already a customer I won’t be hassled with being a new account at the very least.
