I can’t argue this one.

As much as I love cell phones, I hate to see people using them when they are in control of a car.

This was proposed by Nashville Council Members because it represents a threat to public safety. This proposal will go before Nashville City Council later this month. The use of a handsfree cell phone wouldn’t be prohibited or ticketed.

The maximum penalty would be $50.00 plus court costs.

Law Enforcement and Emergency workers would be exempt from this new law, as would be a civilian that was using his cell phone in the case of an emergency.

Recent studies have shown that the risk of a car crash increases threefold if a driver is attempting to dial out on their cellie. That is reason enough to just let voicemail pick up and return their phone call at a more convenient time.
