Nokia expects smaller rivals to go under
May 23, 2006 – 6:25 pmThe global phone business is a tough one, and one that requires increasing bulk for companies to compete. Nokia thinks it will be harder than ever for small companies to compete.
Kallasvuo said companies with less than 15 percent market share, which include all but Nokia and Motorola, would struggle in the future.
“The competition in the market place is very tough,” Kallasvuo said.
Companies without 15% market share include most of them. You wonder now if Nokia might consider a squeeze of the market, in order to shake out any week hands.
The company’s enterprise division is still losing money, so they haven’t found a way to exploit that sweet spot.
