Smart Phone Sales on The Rise

This news didn’t come as any surprise to me.

The Smartphone is growing in popularity as a way to access the internet and Email, as well as keeping in touch with friends, relatives and colleagues. Depending on the model, it might also serve as a camera or MP3 player.

Shipments totaled 18.9 million units in the first quarter of 2006, an increase of 67.8% from the same quarter in 2005.

Nokia has held the largest market share over the past 2 years. In 2005, Nokia had 43.2% of the market, in 2006 it was a nice increase to 48.4%.
