Lucky Chicagoans can visit the convenient new store Nokia just opened to get their share of the company’s hot-selling phones. The company has a plan to open a limited number of stores worldwide to showcase their technology.

Nokia’s store is in the hometown of biggest rival Motorola Inc. and a few blocks away from Motorola’s temporary retail space showcasing its latest phone, called “Q,” on Chicago’s trendy “Magnificent Mile.”

The store gives Nokia an opportunity to sell their more expensive lines, like their Vertu brand. Vertu phones from Nokia range in price from $5,000 to $90,000. Yes, $90,000 for a phone that is platinum and diamond encrusted. Now that’s a practical item most people can’t live without.

Sales were brisk on the store’s first day, with customers waiting in line to get in. Nokia plans on opening 18 more stores worldwide in the next 2 years.

If you’d like to visit Nokia’s Chicago Store it is located at:

543 North Michigan Avenue
Chicago, IL 60611

Phone: 312.670.2607
