First off it’s bad enough that most teenagers are already more technically inclined then their parents, but now they have another advantage. The Mozzy Tone is a ringtone that adults can’t hear, but kids can. The tone operates at 17 kilohertz, which is a range that adults can’t hear because of age-related hearing loss.

The big feature here is that your brats can now text message each other and you can’t hear it. Little Susie can silenty make a text message date with her no good boyfriend, and parents will be none the wiser. The distributors (Opera Telecom, in conjunction with Melodi Ltd) are sure kids will love the tones, and it’s not hard to understand why. ‘

I think there’s a definite market for a Mozzy Tone decoder.

This guy can hear the Mozzy Tunes, so at least the adults have infiltrated.

  2. You know, that kind of technology was originally used at high frequencies to ward off teenage loiterers, but apparently we’ve made it work for ourselves.
