Cingular denies lawsuit allegations

Cingular is being sued based on some very nasty allegations that they mislead consumers after their purchase of AT&T’s cellular business.

The foundation filed its lawsuit on Thursday in federal court in Seattle charging that Cingular reneged on its promise to provide AT&T Wireless customers with new and better services. Cingular bought AT&T Wireless for $41 billion in October 2004.

The crux of the argument is that Cingular users were forced to pay fees to switch their service. The company says the lawsuit is “completely without merit”.
