Cingular recently announced that they have added a new wireless site in Madison County, Florida.

This new site was added to provide better coverage for Highways 153, 53 and County Road 150 and the community of Pinetta. This is just one site in their plan to open 40 new towers throughout the state of Florida.

“We realize how important coverage is to our customers, and our goal is to deliver the best in Florida,” said Dan Norman, vice-president and general manager for Cingular’s West, Central and North Florida markets.

Cingular also plans to roll out its third-generation (3G) high-speed broadband wireless network throughout Florida this summer. The service provides average mobile data connections between 400-700 kilobits per second on the downlink and bursts to more than a megabit per second.

It’s nice to see that most cellular providers are working tirelessly to build their networks and service their wireless customers. What the world needs now is less wires to stay connected.
