Cell phones are selling like hotcakes for Nokia, and there’s no sign of a slowdown. Nokia is doing well in emerging markets, in particular in Asia:

The Finnish firm, which sells more than a third of all phones across the world, is seen benefiting from its early entry in emerging markets, where its broad line-up of easy-to-use, cheap models has given it more than a 50 percent share in many countries.

Their strategy has been to lower the costs as much as possible so that consumers in emerging countries can afford their products. So far it’s working well. According to analysts, Nokia is about a year ahead of its’ competitors when it comes to to emerging markets, but that could change as the other companies expand their marketing push.

Nokia will see 100 million G3 phones this year. Look for the report on July 20th.
