I’ve always heard the saying “Talk is Cheap” but if you’re Nokia, “talk” is big business.

Recently, Nokia announced that 850 million people use their handsets throughout the world. This includes the sales of 40 million smart phones or “converged devices” which offer a number of features such as internet access and camera/ video capabilities. Sales of these converged devices is expected to reach 250 million by 2008.

These types of devices definitely change the way people work, play and communicate. Never before in history could you take a picture of something and instantly share it with the people closest to you, even if they live 400 miles away.

A friend of mine even used his cell phone with a camera to Christmas shop. He took pictures of all the curio cabinets he was considering as a gift and let his girlfriend pick which one she liked best. Now that’s technology making life that much easier without a return or exchange.

I believe Nokia is on to something. Life simplified with better communication.

Do you have any personal experiences you’d like to share on how your cell phone or converged device has made your life better or easier?
