Motorola Sees The Internet And Media As Priorities In 2007
January 9, 2007 – 12:43 pmAs you well know, the CES Show is now taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the time that many top electronic companies are showing off their new products.
Number 2 handset maker Motorola is there and Chief Executive; Ed Zander, shared his thoughts on mobile phones.
I think last year was cool devices. This year it’s cool experiences,” Zander said in an interview late on Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
“Making all that technology come out of the box is what we need to do.”
In a keynote address Zander expressed a desire to put DRM (Digital Rights Management) provided by Microsoft’s Windows Media on a music phone later this year, with the possibility of more to follow. The additon of this software would allow cell phone users to wirelessly download from music services like Napster or Rhapsody. This phone is ready to be put into customer trials.
Is this a feature you’d like to have on your mobile phone?
