Today Verizon announced that they have added more mobile handsets that are compatible to use their chaperone services that help families keep track of each other.

“Chaperone helps busy families stay connected throughout the day, while providing parents with a valuable tool for staying in contact with their children,” said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. “Now, with the service available on additional handsets designed for adults, it’s perfect for families that want to stay connected – whether family members include pre-teens, teenagers or even seniors.”
New models include the LG 3450L, the LG VX8300, LG Chocolate and the Motorola KRZR K1m. All of these phones are slim and stylish and make locating your loved ones easier.
This service uses GPS (Global Positioning System) to locate family members using your personal computer. Subscribers must be enrolled in Verizon’s Chaperone service, which starts at $9.99 monthly. This service is only available to customers that are on the Family Share Plan and have a compatible phone. Chaperone with Child Zone lets you set parameters for your children and alert you in the event that they leave their designated areas. This service is $19.99 monthly. If your child leaves a designated area, Verizon will send you a TXT message to alert you.
