Samsung D840 - Is It Stylish Enough?

Samsung is banging out phones all the time. I guess their philosophy is “the more you shoot the score”. Some people are bound to like the features on one specific model more than others, so the more models you have for the public, the better you’ll be in the long run. The Samsung D840 is built to be stylish, but is it differentiated enough?

With their launches too close together for comfort, it is pretty obvious that Samsung�s D840 Ultra handset is the manufacturer�s answer to the LG Shine fashion phone. These two Korean giants have increasingly shared a healthy but niggling rivalry � Samsung launched the touch-sensitive E900 almost immediately after LG released its Chocolate phone � so it is no surprise to see them both sparring again.

But where the Shine handset felt like something new and aspiring, the D840 unfortunately feels like just another Ultra slider given a chrome finish. Now there is nothing wrong with Samsung�s Ultra range, as the D900 is still among the top handsets currently doing the rounds, but if you are going up against the Shine, you need to go that extra mile in the design stakes.
