LG Shine With HSDPA

The highly anticipated LG Shine is on its’ way to Singapore. The Shine is a sleek-looking sliding phone which has a number of new features, including HSDPA.

When closed, Shine oozes sophistication with a perfectly reflective 2.2″ screen. Slide open the super-thin brushed metal body and the ‘magic mirror’ full colour screen comes to life, while Shine’s keys are bathed in a cool blue light. Access to Shine’s menu system is by an easy-to-use multi-function scroll key.

Also, Shine’s equipped with a comprehensive media player with multi-codec support (MP3, WAV and ACC++) and real spectrum display. Shine also supports GPRS and EDGE network compatibility, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The availability of 3.5G High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) in Shine provides unparalleled data transfer speeds and network capacity, bringing mobility to the next level by supplying powerful Internet-based and content-rich applications to the consumers.

The shine has been selling in Korea since November of 2006 and is performing well, with over 180,000 units sold so far. In reality, LG is expecting the worldwide layout of the Shine to do similar numbers to the Chocolate, which was one of 2006’s most successful consumer products.

The LG Shine will be available in Singapore at major mobile phone retail outlets on May 5th. 2007. The price is S$698 (without plan) for KU970 and S$668 (without plan) for KE970.

The latest in LG’s premium Black Label series of mobile phones, the LG Shine will be available in 2 different models. There will be a 3.5G HSDPA-enabled KU970, and the 2.5G EDGE-enabled KE970.
