It’s nice to see Motorola coming some way forward to improving cellular phone status and I truly feel they offer fantastic looking handsets in today’s market. They are after all the innovators of the slimline handset.
However that said they are still very much behind the times as far as cellular technology is concerned. I find their latest handsets still lacking in usability next to their Samsung and Nokia competitors while their up-to-date technology is is frankly out-of-date. Right now I can get a Samsung and Nokia handset with a 5 mega-pixel digital camera built into it, thus removing the need for me to own a separate digital camera. The camera quality on the Sony Ericsson 3.2 mega-pixel K810i cell phone is extremely high quality thanks to their cybershot technology. When will Motorola push up the stakes in the technology bracket rather than just concentrating on the looks of their handsets?
Come on Motorola I know you can do more, we all do. Prove to us you have what it takes to stay in this market with first class handsets. Right now your brand always comes as a second thought when I choose a new cellular phone (along side LG and Siemens).

There has been a lot of behind-the-scenes hype about this new razr 2 probably because of how popular its predecessor the razr was. However, I dont really like much about the physical form factor of the phone. All of the other clamshell and slider phones in the notorious 4ltr line has a small part of the phone at the bottom that remains stationary when the phone is flipped open or slid up. I believe that this is signature of the motorola 4ltr phones and is truly one of the main contributors to the sleek and sexy look of the razr, krzr, rizr, and rokr z6. I dont like that the razr 2 does not have that physical feature. However I do like the fact that motorola has gone a shocking 2 mm thinner than the original razr. However I dont like the fact that the phone is substantially wider than the original razr because i think that the slimmer 4ltr style is much sleeker and sexier such as that seen in the krzr. The added features to the phone are realy great and all but i dont think the razr 2 is my style simply because a good phone has to look good in the eyes of the beholder. As a US Cellular customer, I am always forced to be patient when it comes to the arrival of new cell phones. This one I am not anticipating so much as some friends of mine. PS. For those of you who also have US Cellular here is some extra info. The Red Krzr K1m, the Blackberry 8830, and the motorola Q have just come out for us. I also have received exclusive info from certain customer service people that while verizon may be getting razr 2 in september we will be receiving the next step up from the rizr, the now newest in the 4ltr line, the Motorola Rokr Z6 in October.

I wanted everyone to know that Motorola has an interesting contest/promotion occurring right now on their Razr 2 website.
You can go there and sign up for updates, and when you do you get two things:
1. entered into a contest to win one of 300 S9 Bluetooth headphones
and
2. You get to download a widget called “Cutting Arts”. Cutting Arts is a photo editor that allows you to cut sections out of you photo using several different shapes they provide for you (Ex. a star, a heart, a cross, etc.) Then you can swap out other sec5tions of the photo to make multi-layered pictures. It is a neat application.
