Wirefly recently announced the launch of a program that consumers can trade their used cell phones and iPods for cash. Consumers can also choose to donate the proceeds of these trade ins to the charity of their choice.

They have partnered with Flipswap, who specializes in cell phone trade ins.

“Wirefly and its parent InPhonic are together one of the largest distributors of wireless products in America today. As an industry leader with millions of customers and online shoppers, Wirefly recognizes that we have an unparalleled opportunity to give back to the community and educate consumers about the positive impact the wireless industry can have on environmental and social issues,” said Brian Westrick, president of Wirefly. “Donating a retired cell phone won’t cost Wirefly customers anything, but the value of their donated phones will be tremendous.”

Current popular trade-in values include the Palm Treo 650 at $59.00, the Motorola KRZR at $73.00 and the LG Chocolate at $75.00.
