Lexington Kentucky Getting 3G Wireless Network

AT&T recently announced plans to build a 3G wireless network in Lexington, Kentucky. The addition of this network will give wireless customers access to faster downloads, quicker access to Email and wireless internet.
AT&T customers with 3G enabled handsets can enjoy broadband speed connections to the internet to watch video clips, play games or browse pictures on their mobile phones.
“With the launch of our 3G network in Lexington, AT&T wireless customers will benefit from the powerful combination of a superfast network and a portfolio of next-generation 3G devices that quickly deliver interactive content and applications anytime, anywhere,” said Jim Thorpe, AT&T’s vice president/general manager for wireless operations in Tennessee and Kentucky. “The new 3G wireless broadband network is an example of AT&T’s commitment to ensure that Lexington customers have access to next-generation technology and services — whether it is to communicate more efficiently with friends, family and work or to give them access to a host of entertainment services.”
The 3G Network will also allow subscribers that have BroadbandConnect, a wireless option for
laptop users to connect in. Currently 165 U.S. markets have AT&T 3G networking capabilities and the company is planning on adding more markets by the end of the year.
