Jitterbug For Senior Citizens Goes On Sale In California CVS Stores

September 21, 2007 – 7:56 am

It was recently announced the Jitterbug mobile phone, a simple phone made with senior citizens in mind will go on sale in a number of CVS stores in California.

The Jitterbug comes without many of the bells and whistles of more complicated phones and is designed to be close to a traditional Landline phone, complete with having a dial tone.

Calling plans for the Jitterbug start at just $10 a month, with calls costing 35 cents a minute, which would make this phone more affordable for low use mobile phone users. The Jitterbug has 2 models available, both made by Samsung. One has a dial pad for “traditional” to make phone calls and the other has only three buttons, mainly as an emergency phone. The preprogrammed buttons connect to “home,” “operator” and “emergency.” Both phones cost around $150.00.

Age verification isn’t required for the Jitterbug, so even if you aren’t a senior citizen you can still use their phone service.

The phone is now available in these CVS locations in North County, California:
Carlsbad: 2510 El Camino Real

Escondido: 318 West El Norte Parkway

Encinitas: 455 Encinitas Blvd.

Rancho Bernardo: 16773 Bernardo Center Drive
