Skype Phone Coming To the UK

Qualcomm, Skype and 3 partnered to create a new Skype mobile phone that comes in white or black with blue or pink trim.
The new Skype phone also boasts an MP camera, an MP3 player, Bluetooth 2.0, and Mobile TV and internet functions on the 3 network in addition to the core Skype functions. It can be used to access Skype chat as well as send SMS text messages, and MMS Multimedia messages.
The mobile phone is expected to retail for $49.99 on a “pay as you go” plan or will be free with an 18 month contract. They are currently taking pre-orders for the Skype phone and it will hit retailers shelves on November 2, 2007. They are planning on making the phone available in the following countries by the end of the year: Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Macau, and Sweden.
As of this writing, the United States isn’t on the list.
