Although many airline carriers are looking to add wireless services to their lineup of in-flight offerings, it hasn’t been done yet and Joe David Jones of Austin found this out the hard way.
Mr. Jones was arrested at Love Field in Dallas for disorderly conduct after he refused to stop talking on his cell phone while the aircraft was in flight. He said he was using the cell phone because his father was gravely ill and the doctors needed to talk to him concerning his care. He was a passenger on Southwest Airlines.
The use of mobile phones is banned by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) because of concerns that the phone could interfere with the planes navigation system.
