The full QWERTY keyboard Tour is now available at Verizon Wireless.

The Tour has all the great features that consumers have come to expect on their Blackberrys. Access to Email, the internet, the ability to access corporate information and access to Verizon’s 3G network. The Tour is manufactured
by Research in Motion.

Timothy O’Rourke, vice president, computer and information services at Temple University has used the device exclusively since it was introduced. O’Rourke said, “University faculty and administrators are very mobile these days. They need a dependable, easy-to-use device that keeps them in touch with students, e-mail and the university while they are out of the classroom. We also have faculty who travel to our international campuses in places like Brazil, China, France and even Senegal. The ease of use and the global capability of the BlackBerry Tour make it an easy device to recommend to our faculty and administrators.”

The Blackberry Tour is now available at Verizon Wireless communication stores and online. The Tour costs $199.99 after a $70.00 mail in rebate and requires a new 2 year customer agreement that includes voice and an Email plan.

The conference is scheduled for March 19, 2008.

    Anthony A. Lewis, vice president of the Open Development initiative at Verizon Wireless, said the conference agenda will focus on wireless devices, and that the initial specs will provide an important, tangible building block for device development. “Version 1.0 will provide the roadmap for wireless device visionaries and tinkerers, as well as existing device makers, to create consumer products not offered directly by the company, which can run on the nation’s most reliable network,” Lewis said.

    March 20 will be designed for one-on-one visits between attendees, developers and the Verizon Wireless Open Development team.

The addition of these cell sites will extend coverage and capacity to residents and travelers in the region.

    These cell sites cover the following areas.

    * West of Faribault – the new cell site, located near Elmore Avenue and 175th Street West between Roberds Lake and French Lake, improves coverage in a three mile radius around French Lake.
    * Southeast of Faribault – the new cell site located near County Road 80 and 260th Street East improves coverage in the general area of the site.
    * Southwest of Faribault – the new cell site located near State Highway 60 and Farwell Avenue improves coverage in the area east of Morristown.

    This means that Verizon Wireless customers will be able to to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; and download games and ringtones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
