Finnet Says 3G Package Sales No Good
by Darren
April 16, 2007 – 5:58 pmThe way forward for 3G phone sales does not appear to be bundling, at least according to Finnet. Finland had sought to majorly push forward the growth of 3G technology, but so far bundling 3G packages has bombed with consumers, according to Finnet which is the country’s 3rd largest mobile phone operator.
Bundling 3G phone sales has failed,” Jan-Erik Frostdahl told Reuters in an interview on Monday.
“3G phones are selling well, but not in packages. Finns want to pay cash for their phones, not installments,” Frostdahl said.
Finland introduced a law to allow bundled sales of 3G phones and subscriptions from April 2006 and many operators had difficulties to meet pent-up demand during first few months.
It looks like the marketplace has decide.
